Entry Guidelines

To actually enter the Contest, e-mail superdungeoncommunity@gmail.com with which ND/SPM Miniatures you would like to paint. Please include a reference to an actual card to verify your selection is legitimate.

The SDWiki may be used to find the character card and the Contestant can include a link to its picture.

Mini Guidelines

Miniatures must be from Super Dungeon or a related chibi product: Ninja All Stars, Rail Raiders Infinite, Super Dungeon Conquest, WOSDEC, GUTS or Ninja Squad. (Reasonable proxies are allowed.)
Miniatures must be within the guidelines of the Contest: Small Miniatures.
Conversions of minis are allowed, within reason: i.e the Miniature is still CLEARLY the character stated on entry, or is the character “plus”. E.g. Character’s head on a pike does not count, but the full Character with wings does.
Base work is encouraged, but not required.
If the Miniatures is part of a diorama, please make it removable for its Submission.

Theme

The official theme of the April Fools Painting Contest is:

"The Fool"

Whether it is based on a clown, a jester, a tarot card, humor, or folly, incorporate it into the Miniature.
It could be as simple as bright colors, a smile, or a rubber read nose. Surprise us all.

Painting Guidelines

Miniatures must be fully painted.
There are no restrictions on included mediums (paints, decals, waterslides, stickers, etc). Keep in mind this is a painting Contest, and to use other things to enhance the paint job instead of replacing it.
Miniatures should be painted in a manner that highlights a Contestant’s skill: use of weathering, shading, highlighting, and blending techniques are part of the overall quality of the miniature.

Submission

Contestants must submit by the Contest deadline (NO late entries).
Each Contestant may only submit one entry.
Submissions must be delivered digitally with a minimum of three good quality, well-lit pictures.
Pictures should be taken on a neutral background to showcase the Miniature.
Miniatures should be clearly identifiable in their pictures.
Submissions should be e-mailed to superdungeoncommunity@gmail.com.

Judging

Judging will be handled based on the parameters of the Contest:
People’s Choice. People will be voting on their favorite.
Judging should be based on techniques, creativity, theme, execution, base work, and overall presentation.
After judging, all decisions are final.

In the case of voting, e-mail superdungeoncommunity@gmail.com with the number of the Submission posted.

Prizes

Prizes may include trophies, certificates, painting supplies, or physical objects, but it is not intended that any Contest have a monetary prize.
The actual prizes available are based on the individual Contest:
Shiny Shinobi trophies
Special Loot Cards
Spider Sisters courtesy of Team Drew’s Basement
Prizes will be awarded to winners through the mail, and all Submissions should include a name and address in order for the winners to receive their prizes.

Code of Conduct

All Contestants must have respect towards other Contestants, Judges, Facilitators, and Admins.
Disrespect, bullying, and generally distasteful conduct will not be tolerated: a general rule of thumb to consider is if it can be questioned as malicious, then don’t write/say it.
Generally, consider these Contests as “family friendly” unless otherwise specified. Necessary censorship will be applied when or if it is deemed necessary.
Any form of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
All Contestants are expected to follow all rules to maintain fairness.
Admins may disqualify any Entry or Submission deemed to violate the spirit of the competition or these rules.
